Walk-in Reserve

OneTruth gives enterprises the ability to configure the walk-in reserve at various levels across different combinations of inventory attributes. Walk-in reserve can be set up in multiple ways as listed below.

1. Custom Templates

The walk-in reserve can be configured using custom templates by selecting two or more levels at once.

A walk-in reserve template refers to a layout with a combination of attributes that make up the walk-in reserve rule/condition.

Rule Templates

Walk-In Reserve can be configured in multiple levels, using 5 types of rule templates, as the following:

  1. Global Fulfillment Type

  2. Item, Node & Fulfillment Type

  3. Item & Fulfillment Type

  4. Node Type & Fulfillment Type

  5. Network, Node Type & Fulfillment Type

  6. Category Fulfillment Type

Priority

Each template is assigned a priority to establish its order in a list of templates, that you can customize.

Walk-in reserve set up at the template with the lowest priority would have the highest importance. This means that the walk-in reserve units for ATP calculation are determined based on the increasing order of priority of the templates.

2. Walk-in Reserve Conditions

For each template, the walk-in reserve conditions can be set up by providing the values for the attributes and the walk-in reserve units or quantity. The walk-in reserve units/quantity are used during the ATP calculation.

For example, let us take 2 templates, Template 1 and Template 2. Template 1 - This contains walk-in reserve at the item level, which means that the walk-in reserve for the item is the same across all the stores in the enterprise’s network. Here, the attribute configured as part of the template is item ID, and the template is given a higher priority count.

Template 2 - This contains walk-in reserve at the item-node level, which means that the enterprise determines the appropriate level of walk-in reserve for each item at each node or store in its supply chain network. Here, the attributes configured as part of the template are item ID and node ID, and the template is given a lower priority count.

The following conditions are set up for the 2 templates:

  • Condition 1 for Template 1 - Item ID is 34500 and walk-in reserve units are 3 units.

  • Condition 1 for Template 2 - Item ID is 34500, Node ID is Store-011, and walk-in reserve unit is 1 unit. In both these conditions, the same item ID is used. However, while calculating ATP for Store-011 we consider Template 2, as it has a lower priority count and thus, has the highest importance. Therefore, 1 unit of walk-in reserve is considered for ATP calculation. For the other nodes with item ID 34500, the walk-in reserve will continue to be 3 units.

These walk-in reserve templates and conditions can be edited or deleted as needed. If an existing condition is removed, then the next condition with a lower template priority count will be used for ATP calculation. With the rule-based approach, the user is given the ability to configure the walk-in reserve for any combination, such as category, node type, and item-node-fulfillment type.

Configuration Uploads

If the walk-in reserve needs to be configured at multiple levels, you can bulk upload your templates, as CSV files, at an item level or an item-node level. The attributes required to fill the template are the item ID, unit of measure, fulfillment type, walk-in reserve quantity, and/or the node ID.

Configuration Downloads

If you have any walk-in reserve configurations that you want to save in your system locally, you can download them in bulk at an item level, item-node level, or all together.
