Availability Rules
Availability rule is an essential configuration that allows businesses to specify how availability is calculated among different supply and demand buckets for various availability types, such as “On-Hand” and “Future.”
For example, when an order is in the process of being released to a specific node for fulfillment, the business should only consider the “On-Hand” Supply for availability calculations. Thus, in this scenario, the availability rule would be configured to specifically consider the “On-Hand” supply bucket for determining availability for demands with the “Order Released” status.
To set up availability rules, you must provide the following details:
Availability Type: Specifies the type of availability rule. For example, “ON_HAND_PROMISE”.
Active: Specifies whether the availability rule is active or not. If set to “True” then the availability rule is active, if set to “False” then the availability rule is inactive.
Supply Buckets: Highlights the stages of inventory progression, from procurement to customer availability. This includes inventory that will be available for sale in the future, as well as inventory currently within the facility and ready for sale. For example, it spans from “ON_HAND_PROMISE” to “IN_TRANSIT” statuses.
Demand Buckets: Highlights the stages of demand progression within OneTruth, from creation to fulfillment or cancellation. This includes stages such as “ADD_TO_CART”, “RESERVED”, and “CONFIRMED”.
Product Class: Specifies the group of products that are related to each other based on their attributes, characteristics, or intended use. For example, “GOOD” or “BAD”.
Network IDs: The unique identifier of a strategically organized cluster of nodes. For example, “USDC”.
Based on the availability rules that are configured, the order will move across different demand and supply buckets within OneTruth. For example, if an order is in the “Order Confirmed” or “Order Scheduled” status then the supply bucket corresponding to it will be “On-Hand”. However, as soon as the order moves to “Order Shipped” status, the supply will cease to exist based on the availability rule.
