Items
An item in OneTruth refers to a specific product, asset, or piece of merchandise that a business or organization tracks and manages within its inventory. The entire item catalog of an enterprise can be stored in OneTruth using the master data module. The master data module helps with item validations and supply, demand, availability checks. During the catalog set up process enterprises are required to provide the following details:
Item Name: The name of the item.
Item ID: The unique identifier of the item.
Item Description: Detailed information about a specific item.
Unit of Measure (UOM): A standardized quantity used to express the quantity or amount of an item. An item in OneTruth can have one or more UOMs associated with it.
Categories: The ways in which items can be grouped, classified, or categorized based on certain characteristics or criteria. In OneTruth, items can be classified into parents categories and child categories. There can be one or more child categories associated to a parent category, depending on the preference of the enterprise. Each of these parent and child categories are distinguished by unique IDs. For example, the parent category of groceries may have a unique ID, and the child category of cereals may have another unique ID.
OneTruth also provides the ability to fetch information about an item using its item ID. Customers can view the different categories into which the items have been classified using this feature.
