Inventory Locks

The Inventory Locks feature refers to the process of temporarily blocking the availability of an item due to different business reasons, such as a dirty node or discrepancies found at inventory levels, and releasing the hold on the items once the uncertainties are resolved. The following are some of the reasons why inventory may be put on hold or locked:

  • Locking inventory and shutting down stores for a given date range, or indefinitely, due to natural calamities or holidays.

  • Locking inventory of an item at a node due to a discrepancy in the availability of the item in OneTruth as compared to the availability at the physical store. In such situations, a lock may be applied to the item at the node till the exact issue is identified.

  • Locking inventory of an item due to promotional events, such as holiday sales, where discounts or offers may be applied on the items, and then relaunching or releasing the items to increase sales.
